Refund, Cancellation & Dispute Policy

Repair Tech Network provides the marketplace tools used to discover providers, communicate, book, pay, document work, submit reviews and resolve disputes. Unless a service is explicitly sold as RTN-managed or OEM-managed, the provider—not RTN—performs and is responsible for the service.

Provider Terms and Cancellation Windows

Each listing or quote should disclose price, scope, scheduling terms, travel or parts charges, and any cancellation window. Those disclosed terms govern unless they conflict with this policy or applicable law. Customers should cancel through the platform as early as possible.

Before Work Begins

A booking cancelled within the provider’s stated cancellation window may qualify for a full or partial refund. Non-refundable deposits, reserved travel, custom-ordered parts and clearly disclosed preparation costs may be withheld where lawful.

After Work or Travel Begins

Completed labor, diagnostic time, travel already incurred, installed or opened parts, and authorized expenses are generally not refundable merely because a repair requires additional work, a separate part, or cannot be completed in one visit. Providers must document the work performed and any material change in scope.

Provider Cancellation or Failure to Appear

If a provider cancels without delivering the booked service or fails to appear, the customer ordinarily receives a refund of the undelivered service amount, excluding any separate work already completed or costs the customer expressly approved.

Disputes

Customers and providers should first communicate through RTN and submit a dispute promptly with messages, photos, estimates, invoices, test results and other relevant records. RTN may pause payouts while reviewing a dispute and may issue a full refund, partial refund, release of funds, account credit or no refund based on the documented scope, performance, safety, provider terms and applicable law.

Unsafe or Misrepresented Jobs

A provider may stop work when conditions are unsafe, unlawful, materially different from the request, or outside the provider’s documented qualifications. Charges for completed diagnostics, travel and authorized work may still apply. Deliberate misrepresentation may result in account action.

Off-Platform Transactions

Payments or arrangements moved outside RTN are not eligible for RTN payment records, payout holds or platform dispute assistance.

Chargebacks and Processing

Users agree to attempt the platform dispute process before initiating a payment chargeback where permitted. RTN may provide transaction records to payment processors. Refund timing and treatment of processing fees or taxes may depend on the payment provider and applicable law.

No Technical Outcome Guarantee

Diagnostics and repair sometimes reveal additional faults. A booking does not guarantee that equipment can be restored within a specific time or budget unless the provider gives an express written warranty.
