How Booking and Payment Work

RTN combines service discovery, scheduling, platform payment, order records, and reviews. The exact checkout steps depend on whether the service uses a booking calendar or a direct order.

Connected booking workflow
Keep the booking, payment, and service record connected.

No vendor plan is required for customers. Customers can search for help and post requests without purchasing a vendor membership.

Booking a scheduled service

  1. Open a service from Service Listings.
  2. Review the description, delivery method, price, duration, availability, warranty, and exclusions.
  3. Select an available date and time when the listing includes a booking calendar.
  4. Add useful notes about the equipment and problem.
  5. Accept the applicable terms and proceed to checkout.
  6. Complete payment through the available checkout method.

Ordering a service without a calendar

Some services are purchased without choosing an appointment first. Complete checkout, then use the order conversation to provide requirements and coordinate delivery or scheduling. Do not assume an advertised price includes travel, parts, shipping, consumables, or work outside the published scope.

What happens after checkout

Your RTN account becomes the record for the order or booking. Watch account messages and email notifications for vendor questions, confirmations, schedule changes, requirements, and delivery updates. For remote work, the vendor provides the connection method and session instructions; RTN does not require one specific meeting platform.

Before the appointment

  • Make the machine and work area safely accessible.
  • Have the model, error messages, files, photos, and service history ready.
  • Confirm time zone, contact person, access rules, and any required safety procedures.
  • Back up machine settings and production files when appropriate.
  • Do not disassemble energized or hazardous equipment unless specifically qualified and authorized.

Changes, cancellations, and additional work

Use RTN messages to document changes. If the diagnosis reveals work beyond the listing, ask the vendor to explain the additional scope and cost before proceeding. Cancellation, refund, travel, parts, and rescheduling terms may vary by listing and vendor.

Next: manage your order, messages, and review.
