Cutter and Plotter Support Checklist

Cutting and tracking problems may originate in the blade, holder, pinch rollers, media, calibration, software, communication, or the artwork itself.

Cutter and plotter troubleshooting
Mechanical setup and software settings both affect cut quality.

Quick note: Verify blade exposure and holder condition before compensating with force.

Identify hardware and software

Record the make, model, connection type, driver, design software, firmware, blade and holder, and media.

Separate cut quality from tracking

Explain whether the issue is incomplete cutting, cutting through the liner, corners lifting, offset errors, skew, feed drift, contour-cut registration, or communication.

Provide a controlled test

Use a small built-in test cut when available and document force, speed, offset, blade exposure, pinch-roller position, and media condition.

Avoid masking the cause

Do not compensate for excessive blade exposure by changing force alone. Mechanical setup and consumable condition must be verified first.
