RTN Vendor Standards

RTN vendors are expected to operate safely, honestly, professionally, and within their demonstrated competence. These standards apply alongside the Vendor Agreement and Terms & Conditions.

Vendor standards and training
Professional standards protect customers and vendors.

Accurate identity and qualifications

  • Use accurate business and contact information.
  • Claim only equipment experience, certifications, licenses, insurance, manufacturer authorization, and service territory you can support.
  • Keep profile, availability, pricing, and policies current.
  • Do not imply that an RTN badge guarantees workmanship or outcomes.

Work within competence

Accept only work you can perform legally and safely with appropriate knowledge, tools, documentation, insurance, and supervision. Use qualified specialists or decline work when high voltage, radiation, pressure, motion, chemicals, fire risk, structural loads, regulated systems, or other hazards exceed your scope.

Protect safety systems

Do not instruct customers to defeat interlocks, guards, emergency stops, exhaust monitoring, grounding, overcurrent protection, or manufacturer-required controls. Temporary diagnostic steps must be justified, controlled by a qualified person, and restored before normal operation.

Define scope and pricing

State what is included, excluded, billable, refundable, warranted, and customer-supplied. Explain travel, parts, shipping, consumables, taxes, third-party charges, diagnostic limits, and approval requirements before they become a surprise.

Communicate and document

Respond within the expectations you publish. Use the RTN order or booking conversation for scope, approvals, schedule changes, findings, delivery, and unresolved issues. Provide a useful completion summary and identify remaining risks or recommended follow-up.

Respect customers and data

Treat customers without harassment or discrimination. Collect only information needed for the service, protect credentials and files, and do not reuse customer photos, designs, machine data, testimonials, or confidential information without permission.

Maintain platform integrity

  • Do not manipulate reviews, impersonate others, create deceptive listings, or route platform-originated transactions away from RTN to evade fees.
  • Do not make unsupported guarantees or disparage competitors with false claims.
  • Cooperate with reasonable platform reviews, disputes, and requests for documentation.

Corrective action

RTN may request corrections, limit visibility, remove content, suspend features, or terminate access when platform rules, safety, legal requirements, or marketplace trust are at risk. Serious hazards, fraud, threats, or unlawful activity may require outside reporting.

Professional standard: A strong vendor leaves the customer with a safer machine, a clearer record, and realistic next steps—even when the first engagement is diagnostic only.
